Satellites look at Earth in several color bands
Notes:
The latest GOES satellite looks at different “colors” (or more properly wavelengths). Each wavelength reveals different information and has to be interpreted differently
wavelength of 0.55-0.75 microns with a resolution of 1 km (VIS)
wavelength of 6.70 microns with a resolution of 8 km (Water Vapor)
wavelength of 10.7 microns with a resolution of 4 km (IR)
wavelength of 3.90 microns with a resolution of 4 km (IR)
wavelength of 12.0 microns with a resolution of 4 km (IR)
