All officers were present. * December minutes were approved with the inclusion of Mike Koop's changes to the originally published text. * Secretary's report: * Still trying to get the meeting hall for the auction on 4/15; it appears there will be some difficult with that, as others have priority that day. * Will ask again about getting space for a storage cabinet * The Andrah Foundation donated $550 to the club for educational purposes; this check was handed over to the treasurer at the meeting. * Treasurer's report: None * Equipment report: * The scopes are out! * The signature scope is blurry with a 10mm eyepiece * Dave asked about any storage and hand-off concerns; there were none. * Would like to get binos and a "Red Dwarf" style scope. * The Y2K Gregory Award was discussed. * The board voted to approve funds to reimburse Mojo for the acquisition of the "sjaa.net" domain name. * The board voted to acquire a permanent PO box for its business, preferably at a central site, preferably with a "San Jose" address. Mark volunteered to take care of acquiring one. * The issue of obtaining club "business cards" for our members to hand out was discussed. Dave volunteered to do art/layout. Further action will be taken after a prototype is produced. * The issue of producing larger/fancier brochures to hand out to star party visitors (and as "take ones" at stores) was discussed. Mark volunteered to put together some "copy" for such a publication, and Mojo volunteered to do layout of the final product. Further action will be taken after a prototype is produced. * Elections: Gary Mitchell has agreed to run, which is the minimum we need for this year. One more slot is preferable, as that will make it a contest for everyone who is up for re-election. * The board voted to approve funds to reimburse Mike for the purchase of 20 copies of "Full Moon" (to be sold at the January meeting). * Mark noticed an apparent price discrepancy in the policy materials that were sent to up by our new insurance carrier, and said he would investigate. The meeting was adjourned at 7:36, completing in under 1 hour! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- sjaaboard list: sjaaboard@sjaa.net Changes made only by list administrator: mojo@whiteoaks.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Treasurer at SJAA.net Tue Feb 8 22:05:45 2000 From: Treasurer at SJAA.net (Mark Taylor) Date: Sat Sep 30 03:57:05 2006 Subject: [BOARD] minutes follow-up Message-ID: <4.2.0.58.20000208215835.00a4ee80@NO.RECEIVE> Which reminds me... Bill will run the (possible)school star party on Wednesday evening. I have a Juno address -- jimvn@juno.com -- that I can check from my daughter's place. I'll try to check it on Monday and Tuesday evenings. I don't use it regularly, so don't use it unless I'm in Sutter Creek. I'm considering a new laptop computer, and with that I'd have useful access from Wisconsin, using my regular account.
