There will be some room for displays or booths for community organizations that are important to the park, such as SJAA. Saturday Oct.13, 11 am to 1 pm. Speeches during the first hour. No one knows how many people will be there, but 500 is being used for planning. Most will be people who live in the surrounding area. I made a command decision and told the FOHP* co-ordinator to plan on us being there. I believe an "SJAA" sign will be provided. We need to have someone there with a scope (me), and some sort of thing to hand out -- business cards with the hot line and URL would be sufficient. Does anyone have some? Or software to design a card and print a master sheet, or however that's done? *Friends of Houge Park Clear Skies! -- Jim Van Nuland, San Jose (California) Astronomical Association JVN's home page From jvn at svpal.org Tue Oct 2 13:35:44 2001 From: jvn at svpal.org (Jim Van Nuland) Date: Sat Sep 30 03:57:13 2006 Subject: [SJAABoard] Calendar material Message-ID: <3BBA2520.6EDC@svpal.org> Hi, All, Here's the December material. The stuff I have was from when you (Dave) were president. It lists our PO Box as 110566 in Campbell. The effective date was 01/01/2000. Am I correct in assuming nobody (eg secretary or president) would get bent out of shape if I handled this? ;) Do we have SJAA letterhead or should I just not worry about that? In case anyone is interested, it's for $1,000,000 per occurrence or $2,000,000 total per year. The annual premium is $350. His apologies! But thanks for asking. We need to get together regarding the video cameras. We leave in four weeks and I KNOW those weels are going to fly by way too fast! Let me know your preferred method for picking them up. Doing imaging is one thing, presenting it in a classroom is another. But there are a lot of images being discussed on the TAC list, so it seems not unreasonable to ask there. -- Jim Van Nuland, San Jose (California) Astronomical Association JVN's home page From mojo at whiteoaks.com Mon Oct 15 10:11:16 2001 From: mojo at whiteoaks.com (Morris Jones) Date: Sat Sep 30 03:57:13 2006 Subject: [SJAABoard] November Ephemeris delivered Message-ID: The November Ephemeris has been delivered to the printer. This way we both get the material and when we begin to edit the issue, all the material is in the one place it's needed when edit time comes around. There is a chance that if you just send material to one of us and not to Ephemeris@SJAA.net, that in our double check it will slip through the cracks. Thanks, and this is why the Swap Meet text was missed. It's in now, as you can see from Mojo's note. The only hazard is that I might overlook an ephemeris item if it's part of a lengthy discussion on the board list. Sometimes I just skim the discussions.
