[Sjaa-board] Draft minutes December 2009 board meeting

Meeting called to order 6:38 PM.

    * November minutes approved.
    * Treasurer report - old account closed.  Funds remain generally
      unchanged.
    * Beginning astronomy class December 11 attendance was 15, wet rainy
      night.
    * Observatory fun - Claytor will get prices for ad in Mercury News. 
      Wagner will contact Zeiders re past donors.
    * School Star Parties - Reade reports they are running well.
    * Membership report - 291 total.
    * Loaner report - running well.
    * February 5 Houge Park star party - Gordon opens, Mark closes.
    * February 19 Houge Park star party - Kevin opens and closes.
    * Robert Armstrong proposed by-law amendment to changing article 14
      to article 15, and creating new article 14, passes unanimously.
    * Board reviews by laws and unanimously determines approved by-law
      amendments from October 2009 meeting are in effect.
    * Robert Armstrong proposed by-law amendment to article 1 approved
      unanimously.
    * Board decides beginner classes will take place "rain or shine"
      depending only on the availability of the instructor.
    * Board creates position of Publicity Chair.  Publicity Chair will
      have committee.  Mark temporarily takes position (transfered to
      Rob Jaworski after board meeting).

Meeting adjourned 7:51 PM.
