SJAA board meeting January 30, 2010

Meeting called to order at 6:41 pm

December minutes approved.
Treasurer report - breaking even.
School star parties going well other than rainouts.
Membership holding steady.
Loaners - program running well.
Beginners astronomy class - Rod, with Gordon as backup.
Publicity report - TAC, Mercury News, Craigslist.

Cambrian Community Festival - add to February agenda.

Coverage for upcoming events.

Feb 5 star party - Kevin and close.
Feb 5 beginner class - Rod or Gordon
Feb 19 star party - Lee with Rich(?)
Feb 27 Annual Meeting - elections.
Mar 5 star party - Mark
Mar 5 Beginners class - Rod or Gordon - they will coordinate.
Mar 19 Rich or Lee (whoever did not do Feb).
Apr 9 Kevin open and close.

Rich and Mark will work on computer for club.
Corrected beginner class date from March 19 to March 5.
Observatory fund -

Mark Motion:  Run an ad in Ephemeris regarding observatory fund, looking for donors for their
input.  Run for 3 months.  If no response in 3 months, absorb into general funds.
Robert second.
Passes unanimous.

AANC -
Robert motion, Greg second.
Mark is liaison.  Maintain club membership.
Passes unanimously.

IDA
Kevin R motions to continue membership.
Greg second.
Passes unanimously.

City Award - photo op took place.  We will see if SJAA can obtain copy of photo for Ephemeris. 
Award ceremony is Feb 19, will update. JVN has info on additional tickets.

April 25th.  Mark and Greg will do auction. Rich will solicit donations from Orion and Scope City.
 Start advertising now.  Auctioneer, Jay or Kevin M.  JVN will send AANC announcement to Mark.

Lee will get a list of scopes, and make recommendations on what might be worth keeping (if anything).
