July 24, 2010 board meeting

Called to order 6:47pm
Minutes of June board meeting approved, one abstention.
Treasurer report given.
Membership report given, new and renewed members all accepted.
Loaner scopes - Vixen fluourite has image problem.
7/30 beginners program will be deep sky objects.
9/3 beginners class - Rod - fall constellations.
9/17 Rich opens and closes for Houge Star Party
Begin publicizing November swap on Sept 25. Open mailing list for 
sellers to show what they will bring.  Ask a 10% donation on sales.  
Greg and Rob are committee.
Motion to purchase PST solar scope defeated.
Mark - Search via Ephemeris and mailing lists for person to head up 
solar observing program for SJAA.  If a good candidate identifies them 
self, we will look at purchasing a solar scope.
Loaner scope program - define what we actually have in inventory.  Lee.
Gregory Award for 2010 - Gary Mitchell.   Rob Jaworski will check into 
getting plaques.
City data - all events at Houge - we need how many attended from public, 
SJAA and how many were San Jose.
SJAA participates in CalStar 2010.  SJAA will provide insurance.  Mark 
will be liaison to LCO.
Rich will investigate replacements to trees at north of sidewalk.
