[Sjaa-board] Board or Directors Meeting March 27, 2010 - raw minutes

March 27, 2010

Meeting called to order at 6:40 pm
All board members present.

   1. February board minutes approved.
   2. Treasurer's report -- fee sent to city of San Jose for security
      deposit.
   3. Board votes to reimburse Armstrong for expenses on behalf of club.
   4. Beginner class suggestions submitted to the committee.
   5. Spring constellation class on April 9, Rod.  Gordon as backup.
   6. Akkana and Dave on beginners classes?
   7. School star parties all running well.
   8. Membership report is fairly stable.
   9. Loaner program is very active.  Most scopes out on loan.
  10. Publicity chair submitted list of venues to advertise SJAA.  Adobe
      has a program for public service that pays employees via the
      organizations the service is done for.
  11. Robert suggesting revising the SJAA logo.  Put on next month's
      calendar.
  12. Officer elections -- all current officers will serve another year.
  13. Auction and swap.  Swap in October.  Motion passes.
  14. Orion will donate to the auction, and bring items to sell.
  15. Mark will contact Sam Sweiss regarding items for auction.
  16. Next month we will revisit dues structure regarding print vs
      electronic Ephemeris.
  17. SJAA will participate in CalStar in the same way it did during 2009.

Meeting adjourned 7:35.
