Hi Steven,

Access had never been removed. That's simply a misperception. The board list and its archived
e-amil is accessible for anyone to review, any time they want to. Here, maybe this will help...
use this URL, which is linked in several places on the club's web-page, and you'll be able to see
up to the second current postings on the board list (this one will be there), any time you like:

http://sjaa.net/pipermail/sjaaboard_sjaa.net/

Inferring that access had somehow been removed is just incorrect. I hope you'll agree with that.

down a black hole (appropriate astronomy reference).

Ah, yes. That unfortunately occurred because of how the past mailing list admin had the list
configured. Here is an explanation - it was posted over two months ago to the announce list, so
as many club members as possible could read it:

to comment or complain. Instances of elist suppression of debate are getting all too common!

If anything, I think if you ask the current board, they'd probably to a member agree this board is
very open, and does not engage in "negotiating" tactics like claiming this or that is a
dealbreaker (read: don't suggest any differing ideas). I certainly don't begrudge you having an
opinion of elitism based on your perceptions, but perhaps in the future you ask, rather then form
a strong opinion based on such limited information. If you want to know, I think it is best to go
to the source, and ask.

Clear skies,

Mark

ps - it spam has continued to be a problem, with all the aliases that had been set up for the
SJAA. I hope you will understand that a legitimate e-mail can get lost in the storm. Here, this
is a list of filters in my e-mail client, to deal with SJAA spam. I have three other filters
total for all my other e-mail:

If To contains atmclass @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains auction @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains calstar @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains ephemeris @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains loaner @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains mailman @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains oard @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains payment @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains president @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains school @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains sjaa-announce @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains sjaa-announce-bounces @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains sjaa-announce-owner @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains sjaaboard-admin @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains sjaaboard-owner @ sjaa.net then move to Trash
If To contains treasurer @ sjaa.net then move to Trash

I am looking into simplifying the clubs e-mail. The above addresses generate an enormous amount
of spam.
