Gordon - yes

Rich will be reaching out to Gary to take the lead on
the Friday night star parties.

Loaner Program
-------------------------------------
Lee will be sharing the loaner program
responsibilities from now on with Rich.

-------------------------------------
Beginner's Astronomy Classes
-------------------------------------
Rob is going to consider the idea of his continuing
to conduct these classes for 2009. Previous class
materials are available so it's also possible for
someone to step in and teach a class.

-------------------------------------
S&T Problems
-------------------------------------
It has become more difficult to be able to track when
subscriptions are initiated and renewed. The cost is
neutral to the club (not making any money here). The
benefits to the members are a $5 discount for the
first year's subscription and 5 cents thereafter.
There is no ability to do a multi-year subscription.

Mark made a motion that Robert send a letter to S&T
about the problems we have been having. The motion was
seconded by Rich and approved by unanimous vote. There
were no abstentions or oppositions.

-------------------------------------
Rob Transition Planning
-------------------------------------
Rob Hawley resigned as president and from the board
due to a difference with Mark over how to pursue the
negotiations with the city. Rich will assume the role
as president.

Rob will continue as membership chair at least until
March. He will also consider the possibility of
continuing to give beginner astronomy classes and
continue to moderate the mail list.

School Star Parties
-------------------------------------
Here's the cumulative summary of school star parties,
updated for another month. Though December is shown
as a partial month, it is possible but unlikely that
we'll have any more requests in December.

"Makeup" are pre-scheduled make-up dates and are
firm. They will be dropped from this list if the
primary event is successful, and the dates will become
available.
If primary fails, the makeup event will be moved from
3rd to 2nd column, and the name of the school will be
added to the list on the Current Events page.

Robert made a motion that the honorarium be increased
to $100. The motion was seconded by Mark and approved
by unanimous vote. There was one opposition and no
abstentions. Rich 100% supported the increase, but
would have preferred the honorarium be increased to
$50 or $75.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:41pm.

Note: the next board meeting will start at 6:30pm!
