The club has been contacted in the past by varying parties asking for contact information for SJAA members. Our policy has been to refuse to share contact information with outsiders citing a non-existing privacy policy. It was important to put the policy in writing.
The privacy policy has occasionally been challenged, such as when a
board member wanted to get the contact information for the former
Calstar attendees. The board felt the proposed use was not appropriate.
The board felt that there were some cases where
limits were required to maintain the confidence of our members
SJAA respects the privacy of its members. SJAA
(including its officers, board, and people acting on
behalf of the club) will only use personal information
for club business. It will not be disclosed to any
outside party unless required by law. Any use of
personal information requires approval by the board.
