Yesterday, your astronomy club hosted a vibrant swap meet at SJAA Basecamp, the Hall at Houge Park. What a fantastic turnout it was! Despite it being the first day of Daylight Saving Time, enthusiastic members and newcomers alike showed up early, ready to dive into the excitement.
Tables filled with a variety of items, from telescopes and star charts to lots of eyepieces and vintage equipment, created a treasure trove for enthusiasts. Sellers were eager to showcase their wares, while buyers eagerly exchanged cash for the items they’d been eyeing. The atmosphere buzzed with lively discussions about astronomy, observing sites and other SJAA events, fostering a strong sense of community among our members.
The social aspect of the event was just as rewarding; friends met, new connections were made, and old ones were rekindled. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, sharing their passion for the stars.
